After a 40 year career in the insurance industry, serving in various leadership and managerial positions with both Utica Mutual Insurance Company and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, he founded Spearhead Consulting, LLC that specializes in enhancing profitable growth for independent insurance agencies. This was a natural path, since he served as Regional VP and Sales Director interacting with independent agencies to achieve outstanding results in terms of profitability and growth. Numerous advancements in the areas of product development and service capabilities were a hallmark of his success.
On January 1, 2015 he originated FireMark Insurance Group, LLC consisting of five high quality, historically successful independent agencies in North Carolina. Under a joint management agreement, these agencies are able to combine their premium and loss information, being viewed as one multi-location entity and increasing their ability to compete on a larger scale. Spearhead Consulting, LLC serves as Group Manager with the responsibility of providing important liaison functions between Members and Insurers.
Mr. Graham’s background and keen understanding of insurance company operations and an appreciation for the role of the independent insurance agency has uniquely qualified him to provide the organization, direction and guidance which lead to successful outcomes for both insurers and independent insurance agencies.
Over the course of his career, he has developed a lasting business relationship with independent insurance agencies up and down the east coast. After establishing his reputation in the area of handling National Accounts such as Bristol Myers, Morton Salt, Bausch & Lomb, Keebler Company and other large policyholders, he headed up all Eastern Region operations for Utica Mutual and successfully built a network of agencies in NY, NJ and PA. From there, he transferred to Utica’s Richmond, VA office, where as Regional Vice President accomplished another record of unprecedented profitable growth and expanded his contacts with independent agencies in DE, MD, VA and NC. Following a 30 year career with Utica, he joined Liberty Mutual and was named Sales Director for the southeastern states of NC, SC, KY, TN and GA increasing sales of Worker’s Compensation for Summit through independent insurance agencies.
